KSRTC bus catches fire in Kozhikode, 4 injured


A KSRTC bus going towards Malappuram from Kozhikode lost control in the busy town area and caught fire. It also hit several bikes and 4 persons were injured. Fire force officials reached the spot and extinguished the fire.

The KSRTC bus which started its journey at about 3.15 pm from the KSRTC stand on Mavoor Road met with the mishap. The bus had just left the stand and gone only 100 metres when it lost control.

The swaying bus hit 3 bike travelers and came to a halt after hitting a wall. One of the bike got jammed under the bus and was completely destroyed. The bike travellers were taken to a nearby hospital and one among them is reported to be serious.

The bus caught fire when it hit a divider and there was diesel leak from the tank. There were only four passengers travelling in the bus. The fire force personnel immediately reached the spot and put out the fire.
