Those who fear women should remain in dark caves: Sugathakumari

'Hinduism is the lone religion that portrays God as a woman. Devi Parashakthi is seen as the mother of the universe.'

Kozhikode: Those who are afraid of their own mothers should remain in dark caves, said poet Sugathakumari on the controversial release function of 'Kalatheetham'.

'Hinduism is the lone religion that portrays God as a woman. Devi Parashakthi is seen as the mother of the universe. Kali is time. It's all described by a single word 'Jagadamba'. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Chattambi Swamikal, and Sri Narayana Guru were all brahmacharis. But for them, woman was mother,' she added.

'The sight of women is banned for some swamis, it seems. Then those swamis should not attend public programmes. They should meditate sitting in dark caves until they have achieved complete control over senses. Those who fear women, those who fear mothers, should remain in dark caves,' said Sugathakumari.
