Nursing recruitment begins under Vigilance supervision


The government decided to make the procedures for recruitment under vigilance supervision following the recommendation given by Norka-Roots Chief Executive Officer (CEO) V. Bhooshan to the government. V Bhooshan assumed charge a week back.

Kochi: The nursing recruitment conducted by government agency Norka–Roots was held in Kochi under the supervision of the Vigilance department. The first recruitment under the new system was held at Crown Plaza in Kochi on Sunday.

The government decided to make the procedures for recruitment under vigilance supervision following the recommendation given by Norka-Roots Chief Executive Officer (CEO) V. Bhooshan to the government. V Bhooshan assumed charge a week back.

A report published by Mathrubhumi had highlighted the large-scale fraud detected under the leadership of private agencies in the nursing recruiments to foreign countries.

The examinations, interviews and other procedures before the appointments were supervised by vigilance officials. The vigilance officials supervised the procedures Sunday morning.

In the wake of allegations, the recruitments were supervised by officials including Norka General Manager. The job seeker were relieved as the recruitments were supervised by Vigilance officials.

Job seekers said that the new system instills hope and they expect no corruption in the recruitment.

The Norka had issued a warning to job seekers about private agencies committing large scale frauds in nursing appointments.

Norka had also informed the job seekers that is has not entrusted middlemen to interact with them and that job seekers should be careful not to fall victim to cheating.

The Centre had issued an order on March 2015 making nursing recruitments to 18 countries, including Gulf, through four government agencies including Norka.

The government order banned private agencies from making appointments.

The foreign recruitment agencies who wish to appoint people from India should compulsorily register with the government agencies.
