The cabinet headed by Pinarayi Vijayan will have 11 CPM ministers. As per the latest reports, Thomas Issac will be given the Finance portfolio and A.K.Balan will get Local Self Government Department. Education will be looked after by C. Raveendranath.
The Home and Vigilance Department will remain with the Chief Minister. Kadakampally Surendran and G Sudhakaran will handle Electricity and public works departments respectively. Co-operation Department will be given to A.C.Moideen and Industries will go to E.P.Jayarajan.
The list may change after the state committee meeting later today. The portfolios will be officially announced by CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan after the meeting.
The CPI may get Revenue, Agriculture, Food and Civil Supplies, Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Housing, which was earlier handled by the party itself. Congress (S) leader Kadannappally Ramachandran is likely to be reinstated as Devaswom Minister. Meanwhile, LDF allies are staking claim for Water Resource and Transport Departments.
