Malappuram: KPCC state president K Sudhakaran on Monday said that Kerala Students Union (KSU) has no history of creating havoc in colleges or perpetrating violence in the name of students politics. He was talking to the media regarding the murder of SFI leader Dheeraj Rajendran in Idukki engineering college on Monday.
Neither Congress nor the KSU will justify the murder. If KSU leaders are found guilty, they will be condemned, he told the media.
Meantime, he alleged that there are rumours that the murder comes in the backdrop of an ongoing conflict between two CPM leaders in Idukki, S Rajendran and MM Mani. Sudhakaran said that he would respond to this once a clear picture of the incident is brought to light.
“If we look at the number of student martyrs in Kerala, the vast majority are members of KSU. They are facing threats from SFI. 10 students were seriously injured after goons from outside attacked KSU members in Maharajas College on Monday,” he said.
He suggested that the incident at Idukki engineering college should be thoroughly examined before coming into a conclusion. "The media should check the situation inside the college. Around 40 people gathered in the college premises and attacked the KSU members,” he added.
