Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has ridiculed evaluations that the public has approved of the LDF government’s corruption.
Addressing the media evaluating the LSG poll results, the Congress leader said that such an evaluation was a challenge against the people who casted their votes.
UDF will continue its battle against corruption and will organise more protests. The emotion against the government has not reflected in the local body polls. Individual influence, regional issues and family connections matter in the LSG polls. The LDF had the upper hand in these matters, Chennithala said.
LDF has always enjoyed the upper hand in all LSG polls except in 2010. But UDF’s foundation is solid and unscathed. UDF will rule 3 corporations and have gained the upper hand in 375 village panchayats. UDF secured a spectacular victory in the last Lok Sabha polls. Despite using all the influence available for being in power, the LDF was unable to gain a better victory than it had secured in 2015.
