Electricity charge might increase, says Minister M M MANI
Thiruvananthapuram: Electricity Minister M M Mani said that electricity charge in the state might go up. Considering the current situation in the state, it has become necessary to increase the charge. However, no decisions have been taken regarding this, said the minister.
The electricity department is functioning with the debt of Rs 7,300 crores. Institutions in the public sector and water authority has pending amounts to pay the department. There is little chance for the Athirappilly project to work. He added that the disagreements within and outside the front have gotten in the way of the project.
