Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Election Commission will allow those above 18 years of age to add their names to the voters' list for elections to local body institutions at any given time.
Currently, the existing list can be renewed and corrected only before the election. A suggestion regarding this was put forward during the state-level meeting of representatives of political parties organised by Commissioner A Shajahan concerning the Mattanur Municipality election. The commission is planning to implement this recommendation from the next election onwards.
