Eldhose Kunnapillil
Kochi: Eldhose Kunnapillil MLA, who went absconding following a sexual harassment case filed against him, reappeared at his residence in Perumbavoor. The Congress MLA returned after obtaining anticipatory bail in the case. By repudiating the allegations raised against him, he shared his complete conviction to Mathrubhumi News that he would be proven innocent in the case.
“The bail has been received under conditions and there is nothing more to reveal regarding the case,” said Eldhose. He said that the party, family and himself will cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
“An explanation has been submitted to KPCC and further matters would be decided by the party,” he added.
The Additional District Sessions judge granted bail to the MLA after dismissing the claims that the accused had raped and attempted to murder the complainant. Eldhose has been directed to appear before the investigating officer on Saturday before 9 am.
The court observed that the complainant and the MLA had a close relationship before filing the complaint. The complainant’s wish to marry Eldhose and lead a family life, despite knowing that the accused is a married man was unnecessary, noted the court. The court also pointed out that the woman had not revealed sexual assault or attempt to murder in the initial phase of questioning. Such a move from the part of an educated person evokes suspicion, observed the court.
