Thiruvananthapuram: The woman who filed a sexual assault complaint against MLA Eldhose Kunnapillil alleged in her statement that the Congress leader assaulted her demanding withdrawal of the complaint. The statement given to the police has now come out.
She alleged that Eldhose's friend contacted her and threatened to hurt her mother and son if she did not withdraw the complaint. Further, it was also stated that three lawyers were present when Eldhose assaulted her. She added that lawyers took her away in a car and dumped her on the side of the road. She also named an online journalist who allegedly captured a video of her upon the demand of MLA, to threaten her.
The complainant said in her statement that Eldhose promised her Rs 30 lakh but tore her dress and assaulted her when she refused. The woman had earlier alleged that police officials tried to settle the case, and Eldhose even offered money in front of the Kovalam station house officer.

The woman lodged the original complaint of sexual assault before the City Police Commissioner in the second week of September. This complaint was handed over to Kovalam Police. However, they did not initiate a probe. The FIR was registered after news of the assault came out.
