Thiruvananthapuram: In a shocking incident, an elderly woman was found dead and her husband was found electrocuted inside their house here on Thursday. The deceased is identified as Girija Kumari, a resident of Vishwambharam Road, Pappanamkode. Her body was found inside a bedroom in her house. Her husband Sadasivan Nair was seen lying inside the bathroom of the same house. He has been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

When their son arrived home on Thursday afternoon, Girija Kumari and Sadasivan were spotted in this condition. He reported that the door was locked from inside when he reached there. There was no response when he called out many times also. Then he broke the door open and found Girija Kumari dead in her bedroom on the bed.

Sadasivan Nair was found lying in the washroom of the same room. He was immediately taken to the Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Nemom police assumed that he electrocuted himself. However, it is not yet clear how Girija Kumari died. Police say a detailed investigation will be initiated. Sadasivan Nair and his wife who was paralysed were living alone in that house for the last 20 years.
