Chirakandi Nanu
Vadakara: An elderly man was fatally attacked by a neighbour during a heated altercation at Ayancheri in Kozhikode on Sunday morning. Chirakandi Nanu, 65, succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The police have apprehended the accused, Vijesh, and have taken him into custody.
According to the police, a dispute arose when Nanu's family confronted Vijesh after he purportedly hurled stones at the children in Nanu's residence. Police have registered the case as unnatural death.
The autopsy was conducted at Government Medical College, Kozhikode, following an inquest at Vadakara district hospital.
Nanu is survived by his wife Leela, children Lijina, Liji and Lijith.
