Elderly man lies unattended on road for 30 minutes after bike hit, dies

Kollam: In a tragic incident, an elderly man died after being hit by a bike at Anchal in Kollam on Thursday. The deceased has not been identified yet.

As per reports, the man was left unattended for around half-an-hour on the roadside as none of the passersby were ready to rush him to the hospital.

Later, Shanawas, a local resident, took the man to hospital in his jeep, but he could not be saved. Meanwhile, the bike rider, who hit the elderly, fled the place in an auto rickshaw.

The deceased is presumably above 70 years of age and lost a lot of blood. According to a woman resident, several people attempted to take pictures on mobile phones, but were not ready to help the man.

The elderly was initially taken to the taluk hospital and later shifted to medical college hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. The police have begun investigation to trace the man who had hit the old man.
