Elderly man dies in fire at Thrissur coconut grove

Pulloor: An elderly man died after a coconut plantation caught fire in Pulloor, Thrissur, on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Subran (75), an Oorakam native.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning. The fire engulfed acres of coconut plantation owned by a private individual. The fire force unit from Irinjalakuda doused the fire with the help of locals. Meanwhile, Subran was found with burn injuries. He later died at Irinjalakuda General Hospital.

Authorities suspect that Subran might have been caught in the fire and couldn't escape.
