PT Usha, Elamaram Kareem
Kozhikode: CPM central committee member Elamaram Kareem slammed athlete P T Usha following her nomination to Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. He said this while inaugurating the protest in front of the Town Hall demanding the release of civil rights activist Teesta Setalvad and former DGP R B Sreekumar.
He made the remark while commenting about how people acting according to the whims of Sangh Parivar are being rewarded. He criticised the nomination of Supreme Court Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who passed the verdict in the Ayodhya case, as a member of the parliament.
“Now a person from Kerala has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. The person has been proving eligibility for some time now. Eligibility other than what was showcased in Asiad was exhibited,” he remarked with hints of sarcasm.
