Eid ul-Fitr: Select shops to remain open; inter-district travel permitted in Kerala


Shops including bakeries, fabric stores, sweets shops, fancy stores and footwear stores can remain open from 7 am to 7 pm. Meanwhile, meat and fish outlets can remain open from 6 am to 11 am.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has announced relaxations in lockdown restrictions in view of Eid ul-Fitr which falls on Sunday. The relaxations are over and above the activities allowed on Sunday.

Shops including bakeries, fabric stores, sweets shops, fancy stores and footwear stores can remain open from 7 am to 7 pm. Meanwhile, meat and fish outlets can remain open from 6 am to 11 am.

Moreover, the government has permitted inter district transport for visiting relatives but only while adhering to all the coronavirus prevention protocol.

People stepping out of their houses must maintain all COVID-19 protocols including maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks etc, the government directive said.
