Kochi: The statement given by Edavela Babu to the police in the actress attack case has now come out. He had said in the statement that the attacked actress had complained to AMMA about her opportunities being denied in the cinema field.
But AMMA contends that the complaint was not received in writing, in contrary to what Edavela Babu had told police.
The statement of Edavela Babu says there is genuineness in the actress complaint. "This was discussed with Dileep too. I have asked Dileep why he interferes in unwanted issues."
The new leadership of AMMA led by Mohanlal outraged many after it decided to reinstate the membership of Dileep. The actors’ body is taking a lot of heat and the survivor of the attack quit the association in protest along with a few other leading female actors. The decision to resign was posted in the official Facebook page of the newly formed Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), led by Dileep's former wife Manju Warrier.
