Ebrahim Kunju had filed a bail petition in court stating that the arrest was politically motivated and citing that he was a cancer patient.

Kochi: Former PWD minister V. K. Ebrahim Kunju, who was arrested in the Palarivattom flyover scam case, has been remanded for 14 days.

The Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court judge came to the private hospital in Kochi where Ebrahim Kunju is undergoing treatment and remanded him.

The judge spoke to doctors over Ebrahim Kunju’s health condition. Owing to health reasons, Ebrahim Kunju will remain at the hospital.

The petition filed by Vigilance Department seeking Ebrahim Kunju’s custody and the former minister’s petition seeking bail will be considered by the vigilance court tomorrow.
