Alappuzha: As the E-PoS server went down owing to heavy traffic, the ration distribution in shops across the state will be done on a shift basis from Friday onwards.
The decision in the regard was taken at a meeting of ration traders' organisation officials, presided over by Minister GR Anil. According to reports, ration will be distributed on alternative days in the morning in seven districts and in the afternoon in other districts.
An expert meeting will also be held to decide whether to continue the shifts in ration shops. The E-PoS server went down after a large number of people came to buy ration on account of the dealers’ indefinite strike from November 26.
