E. P. Jayarajan files complaint with DGP over morphed images


In his complaint, the Minister also alleged that the morphed photo was circulated to tarnish the image and dignity of himself and that of the Chief Minister.

Thiruvananthapuram: State Minister for Industries and Sports E. P. Jayarajan has filed a complaint with the DGP against those who circulated a morphed image of him taking part in Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijaya’s daughter’s wedding.

The wedding was held at the Cliff House on June 15, 2020. Jayarajan had shared a photo of himself and wife P. K. Indira along with the newly married couple and the CM. However, this image was morphed.

Using computer technology, the Minister’s wife’s face was replaced with that of gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh. This morphed image was then circulated by several people including T. G. Sunil (Youth Congress All India Coordinator), Deepti Mary Varghese, Biju Kallada, Raghunath Menon, Manoj Ponkunnam, Babu Kallumala, Maneesh Kallara etc, the complaint said.

In his complaint, Minister Jayarajan also alleged that the morphed photo was circulated to tarnish the image and dignity of himself and that of the Chief Minister.

The Minister added that circulating such an image was an offence according to IPC sections 465 and 469 besides several sections of the IT Act and the Kerala Police Act. Jayarajan also filed screenshots of the Facebook accounts carrying the morphed images along with the complaint.
