DYFI worker stabbed to death in Kanhangad
Kanhangad (Kasaragod): A DYFI worker was stabbed to death at Old Kadappuram here. The deceased was identified as Ouf Abdul Rahiman (30). His friend Shuhaib also was injured in the attack. The incident took place on Wednesday at 10.30 pm.
When both Ouf and Shuhaib were coming to Kadappuram on a bike, a group of criminals blocked them on Kallooravi-Old Kadappuram road and stabbed them. Their two other friends were coming on another bike.
Soon after the attack, the criminals fled from the place. Ouf was stabbed on chest. Though his friend Mansoor rushed him to hospital, his life could not be saved.
DYFI workers alleged that Muslim League workers are responsible for the crime. However, the League leaders informed that the party have no role in the murder.
Muslim League workers had attacked the house of their own party member in Kallooravi alleging he did not vote for the party in local body polls. Following this, clashes existed in the area.
Ouf Abdul Rahiman is son of Kunjabdulla Musliyar and Ayisha. He is survived by wife Shahina.
