Bird flu: TN intensifies checking of vehicles coming from Kerala


Special surveillance on carrier vehicles coming from Kerala which have cattle and birds.

Gudalur: Amid reports of bird flu and allied mass culling of birds in Kerala, Tamil Nadu border districts, Nilgiris has initiated special surveillance on carrier vehicles which have cattle and birds coming from Kerala. The intensified checking comes under the direction of the district administration and supervised by animal husbandry department.

The checking is carried out in bordering check posts like Thaalor, Naadukani, Paatavayal, and Cherankkod. Apart from surveillance preventive medicines are sprayed.

The authorities have informed that checking will continue in the coming days.
