Kakkanad: A bus driver rammed a car of a Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) officer in Ernakulam for questioning his reckless driving. The driver has been ordered to complete mandatory community service at a general hospital in the area as punishment.

Assistant Motor Vehicles Inspector of Ernakulam RTO office noticed the overspeeding bus dangerously overtaking other vehicles on the Kakkanad- Fort Kochi route. The AMVI, who was travelling in his car, demanded the bus driver Nikson Antony to slow down and drive carefully. Agitated by this, Nikson rammed the bus against the MVD officer’s car. The incident happened at a location between Lissie Junction and Town Hall stops.

As soon as the incident occurred, the MVD officer exited his car and confiscated Nikson's license. It was at this point that the bus driver realized the man was an MVD officer. AMVI submitted a report of the incident to Ernakulam RTO G Ananthakrishnan, who ordered the driver to complete community service at the Ernakulam General Hospital as punishment.
