Thiruvananthapuram: A medical expert from Mental Health Center, Peroorkada examined the mental condition of Sandeep, accused in the sensational Dr Vandana Das murder case, at the Central Prison in Poojappura. According to the expert, the person is mentally sound.

Sandeep was seen as violent ever since he was jailed. However, he reportedly became normal the other day and the medical examination was conducted then.

Both the medical expert and jail superintendent had prolonged interactions with Sandeep. Based on their conversations, it was reported that Sandeep is a habitual drinker, but he claims to have not used drugs. However, the authenticity of this claim can only be confirmed through further medical examination.

According to reports, Sandeep has some family issues and approached the police out of fear that someone was planning to harm him. He also detailed the incident at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital, where he expressed concern that he might be attacked. He attributed this fear to his possession of dressing room scissors.

Sandeep admitted that he stabbed Dr Vandana Das, but maintained that he was not aware whether she died. According to reports, Sandeep intended to attack the male doctor.
