Thiruvananthapuram: Postgraduate (PG) medicos who have been protesting over the death of Dr Vandana Das seem to be pacified after meeting with health minister Veena George on Friday. According to PG medicos, the discussion with the minister was positive and she has assured them of stringent action against attacks on health professionals.

It is learnt that PG medicos will resume emergency duty at today 5 pm. However, they will continue to boycott Out Patient (OP) duty. The future course of the protest will be decided after the meeting slated for the day.

Meanwhile, house surgeons have not yet decided to pacify or call off their strike.

Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) on the other day had called off strike after the chief minister assured of bringing an ordinance to amend hospital protection law.
