Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan opined that the incidents leading to the death of Dr. Vandana Das at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital have brought shame to the entire Kerala Police. According to him, the police have prepared an FIR that portrays the police personnel as blameless in the incident.
Satheesan alleged that the person who was taken by police for creating a ruckus following the locals' demand has been labeled as a "patient" .
Satheesan accused the police and said they must bear full responsibility for the heinous crime, but despite this, he claimed that the state government and top officials in the police department have given remarks to justify their actions.
Satheesan questioned the chief minister for “maintaining silence” following the incident. In this case, the truth has surfaced through witnesses and media. Otherwise, the government might have plotted fake stories to conceal the true events, said the opposition leader.
He said that drug mafias have gripped the state with the aid of the CPM. Though it was raised several times in the assembly, the government refrained to consider this seriously, added Satheesan.
