Kottarakkara: The post-mortem reports of Dr Vandana Das, a house surgeon who was murdered while on duty at the taluk hospital here, revealed the cause of the death was four stab wounds she received on her chest and back, including a deep wound on her lung.

The report indicated Vandana had 17 stab wounds on her body. The crime branch team investigating the case received the post-mortem report the other day.

Meanwhile, the team would receive the crucial report compiled by the medical board on Friday.

The officials brought the accused, Sandeep, to Kottarakkara taluk hospital to collect evidence at 4 am on Friday. They recreated the murder scene and Sandeep explained the chain of events to the officers.

Vandana Das, a Kottayam native, was brutally stabbed to death by Sandeep, a patient, at a taluk hospital in Kollam district last week. The perpetrator was a teacher, and is in police custody in connection with the case.
