Dr K Muthulakshmi appointed Sanskrit University Pro-Vice-Chancellor

Kalady: Dr. K Muthulakshmi took charge as the PVC of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. Vice-chancellor Prof V.M Narayanan suggested the name and a final decision was arrived at the syndicate meeting. Dr. K Muthulakshmi is a professor at the Sanskrit Vedanta department of the university's main campus and director of the research and development cell.

She received the Kerala Sahitya Academy award for translation in 2008. She is also working as the advisory board member of Athmavidya magazine, established by Vagbhatananda and published by Kerala Athma Vidya Sangham. The editorial board member of UGC certified journal Kiranavali published by the Sanskrit research foundation.

The Chalakudy native is daughter of late Vaidya bhushanam K. Raghavan Thirupulppad and Vishalakshi Thamburatti. Spouse CS Venkateswaran is a film critic and writer. Daughter Medha is a media worker and son Gauthaman is a law student.
