Kottayam: BJP state president K Surendran has warned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan against the state government’s stance questioning probe under central investigation agencies.
The BJP leader alerted the CM that he can not influence the Modi government with threats and challenges in the name of Federalism.
“Don’ t try to challenge the centre thinking that Manmohan Singh heads the government in Delhi. Pinarayi Vijayan, who claimed that the investigation under central agencies is in the right direction, did a volte-face when the probe started to uncover the truth. Now, Pinarayi is criticising the investigation agencies,” criticised Surendran.
“Now, he is issuing threats to the investigation agencies over the probe. Earlier, Pinarayi Vijayan claimed that there is nothing to hide in the Life Mission project. But the Chief Minister and Sivasankar jointly completed all transactions related to the Life Mission project. Even vigilance has confirmed that there was black money transaction under the project,” added the BJP leader.
The Chief Minister stated that the central agencies violated principles of federalism by demanding the files. Refusal to hand over the files is a challenge against democracy. Kerala witnessed a series of violence when Jayarajan was arrested. If the CM is planning to execute the same strategy against central agencies, the public will not remain silent,” Surendran warned Pinarayi Vijayan.
The BJP leader also alleged that attempts were made to influence the officials following the commencement of the probe.
A CPI (M) party faction is active in customs. Some customs officials claimed that they did not receive any phone calls from CM’s office. But the probe team has recovered evidence which proves that Sivasankar contacted the customs officials following the gold seizure at the Thiruvananthapuram airport. The CM has issued a threat to the investigation agencies after his attempts to influence them did not yield any result, alleged Surendran.
