Don’t script rubbish in the form of statements, Speaker warns ED
Thiruvananthapuram: Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan on Sunday reacted to the Enforcement Directorate report that disclosed the statements of gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh. Stating that probe agencies shouldn’t stoop so low to the level that any rubbish written can be termed as statement, he said that it will not be good for a democratic country.
Earlier the day, statements of Swapna recorded by ED, in which she claimed Sreeramakrishnan had summoned her to his flat with vested interests, had surfaced. This was submitted by ED in court.
Taking to Facebook, Sreeramakrishnan reacted that any move for personal harassment, when the gold smuggling case finally knocks at the door of own party, will not be tolerated.
The probe agencies are forging fake statements at various stages of the election. This will be countered at any cost. The Kerala public will realise the vested interests of the central probe agencies.
He also criticised the attacks on Life Mission and KIIFB projects.
