Thiruvananthapuram: As the daily toll of new Covid-19 cases in Kerala plunged below 1,000 after 19 months, health minister Veena George reminded that it is not time yet to lower the guards.
Masks should not be removed. We aim to clear the state of the coronavirus.
Kerala couldn't recover from the impact of the second wave after recording 962 cases on August 3, 2020. It shot up to 55,475 on January 25, 2022.
However, the minister added, Kerala was not short of ICU beds or ventilators. Neither our hospitals were overwhelmed with patients.
100 per cent of the state population above the age of 18 received the first dose of the vaccine and 87 per cent got the second jab. Vaccination among children is also nearing 100 per cent, Veena said.
