Don't choose disgraceful ways to remove CM; Pinarayi responds to opposition
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the opposition would normally wish to remove the chief minister from the post, but they should not choose disgraceful ways to fulfill it. He was responding to the demand raised by Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala that the chief minister should resign over the gold smuggling case.
The opposition would naturally wish to remove the chief minister, but they should not take wrong paths for it. They have to engage in a political debate in a healthy way. It is pointless to think that they can oust anyone by cooking up stories, he stated.
The state cannot take direct action in the gold smuggling case and that is why the Centre was requested to appoint an investigation agency. The state can help them only if they asked what kind of assistance they want. The Centre is supposed to take decisions regarding the probe and proceeding with it, the chief minister made it clear.
