Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan warned government officials that they would regret it if they think of leading a comfortable life by swindling public money.

Some people think that they can make profits by snatching funds meant for welfare and development activities, the chief minister said. The government has no obligation to support those who tarnish its image, he pointed out.

The chief minister was inaugurating an awareness programme for government employees.

Vijayan also warned government officials that those who do not fulfill their responsibilities will not continue in service.

The chief minister’s warning comes at a time when news of the swindling of money from the CM’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) surfaced. Vijayan, however, did not mention the CMDRF issue while warning the officials.
