Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister KK Shailaja stated that people coming from outside the state should strictly adhere to quarantine norms. All people reaching the state will be tested and sent to quarantine. She also said that it would be better to home-quarantine them and that the society should make sure that people are following quarantine protocols.
Minister said that those coming from red zones will be made to undergo strict testing. There could be a spike in the number of cases when the domestic flight and train services resume in the state. She also said that we cannot stop Keralites staying in other states from returning to Kerala.
KK Shailaja clarified that those who are coming in domestic flights will also be quarantined for 14 days. Those who are staying in containment zones will not be allowed to travel. Kerala can survive only with strict regulations and measures.
She also added that there might be inadequacies in facilities when a large number of people return to Kerala. However, there are enough quarantine centres in the state, she said.
