Thiruvananthapuram: A section of CPI insiders is suspicious about the intent behind the documentary on party veteran KE Ismail. Interestingly, even his supporters were unaware of the production of documentary, said reports.

The documentary titled ‘Red Soldier’ will be released at the event held in Palakkad on Sunday. However, respective district leaders who have got the invite will not attend the event. They have intimated the matter to state leadership.

Reports said the documentary was produced without the party’s knowledge. Kanam Rajendran supporters within the party are of the view that the documentary has some political motive. Notably, the Ismail faction and the Kanam faction are the two major camps within the party.

Some insiders also worry whether the documentary covers factionalism in the party.
