Thiruvananthapuram: The State Pollution Control Board informed that sale and bursting of only green crackers will be allowed in Kerala on Diwali day to ensure pollution-free festival.
The eco-friendly crackers emit less chemicals and cause low sound and dust pollution compared to the normal firecrackers.
The Home ministry had set a time slot of two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm to burst crackers. Crackers are banned within 100 metres of hospitals, courts, educational institutions and places of worship.
