Disunity in Congress affecting UDF: Kunhalikutty
Thiruvananthapuram: Muslim League leader P K Kunhalikutty has said that there are issues in the UDF, and sought corrections. He said that disunity in the Congress was causing problems in the UDF and demanded solution to them.
Kunhalikutty's comments came after the party's bilateral talks with the Congress, aimed at strengthening the front by solving the existing issues. Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, who met reporters after the meeting, did not disagree with Kunhalikutty's comments.
"Many issues exist in the UDF. Its activities are affected by the disunity in the Congress. Correction is needed. The Congress should work unitedly," Kunhalikutty said, and added that the Muslim League was ready for more talks with the Congress.
League leader E T Mohammed Basheer also said that unity in the Congress was essential for the UDF's performance. He demanded the intervention of the high command to solve the problems in the party.
Chennithala, meanwhile, said that all the issues would be solved. The matter will be discussed with the high command. Party's organisational revamp will come for discussion in the talks with the high command scheduled for August 23, he said.
