Periya (Kasaragod): A public representative donated her hair for a bride who lost her hair after cancer treatment. Ermalam native B H Fathimath Shamna, a district panchayat member from Periya division, donated her hair for the girl hailing from Chowki.

As the girl’s wedding was scheduled in a week, they had to get the hair for making wig as early as possible. Askar Ali Gunaje, a social worker, had arranged two young men to donate hair for the bride. But, the men’s hair was not long enough to make the wig.

Following this, Askar Ali informed Shamna about the matter. She assured him that she would do the needful. Without waiting for others, Shamna decided to donate her hair. However, everyone including Askar came to know about this only later.
