District authority revokes restrictions at Sannidhanam
Sabarimala: Giving relief to pilgrims of Sabarimala Lord Ayappa temple, Pathanamthitta district authority has revoked the restrictions imposed at Sannidhanam.
Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) made an official announcement regarding this on Wednesday. The officials addressed the pilgrims using an amplifier on the shrine and its premises.
With this, women, children, elderly people and differently abled will be allowed to take rest at the ‘Valiya Nadapanthal’.
Apart from this, there will be no more restrictions to take rest near Public Works department office where barricades have been placed.
Pilgrims will be allowed to camp and chant Ayappa hymns without any restrictions. The district collector himself arrived at the shrine to give directions to the TDB regarding this.
It is reported that the official announcement was made on the basis of the recommendations from High Court.
However, police informed that restrictions imposed in the temple dedicated to Vavaru Swamy will continue without any change. Restriction imposed for unlawful assembly in the shrine and premises will also continue.
