Kochi: The Kerala High Court here on Tuesday asked the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to distribute salary to its employees before the 5th of every month. Issuing an interim order, the court asked KSRTC to allocate revenue collected in June for the distribution of salary in July.
The HC also clarified that high-level auditing should be carried out in KSRTC.
Meanwhile, KSRTC management informed the court that the financial crisis will be solved if the daily income touches Rs 8 crore.
The court witnessed a detailed hearing while considering a plea seeking disbursal of salary to KSRTC staff before the 5th of every month. In its interim order, the High Court asked KSRTC to give priority to the employees while distributing salary.
At present, KSRTC is facing a financial loss of above Rs 3500 cr. The corporation will not survive without addressing the huge financial loss. At the same time, KSRTC will not able to depend on the government for a long time to handle the financial crisis. KSRTC informed the HC that a high-level meeting chaired by CM was also held to address the issue.
