Dismayed Kappan says Satheesan 'keeps him in the dark' on crucial matters

Kottayam: MLA Mani C Kappan said that the UDF is constantly turning back on him in its programmes. Even though he doesn't have a difference with the Front's opinion, he is not being informed about many issues such as Muttil tree felling and Madappally protests, he said. In a covert attack on opposition leader VD Satheesan, Kappan said that only one leader has issues with him.

Kappan grumbled that the UDF refrained from informing over the three important issues that happened very recently. He said he was not informed about the Muttil tree felling and the related visit of the leaders to the Governor’s office. He was not given a clue over the anti-SilverLine protest at Madappally. UDF should have informed me at least by considering me as a resident in the Kottayam district, slammed Kappan.

Kappan also opined that the KPCC president K Sudhakaran is leading the Congress party well. Though Satheesan ‘performs’ well in the assembly, he has many lapses while guiding the UDF, said Kappan.

However, VD Satheesan said that Kappan has not brought the issue up with the Front. “I am the chairman of UDF. It does not function like LDF. UDF has its own ways. Mani C Kappan might be feeling such issues because he is unfamiliar with the procedures of UDF,” said Satheesan.

"If Kappan had any issues with the leadership, he should have informed me or the UDF convenor. It was inappropriate to raise complaints publicly," stated Satheesan. The opposition leader denied any differential treatment towards the Pala MLA. He added that all the leaders were informed about everything alike. Kappan was unavailable while the issues raised by him were happening. By asserting that the Front will not act by considering the size of its constituents, Satheesan said that the complaints will be considered seriously.
