Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan and KPCC president K Sudhakaran will hold talks here on Friday to resolve the discord over Congress reorganisation in Kerala. Notably, both the Congress veterans had an on-call interaction over the matter on Wednesday night. State leadership hope that person to person interaction will settle issues over DCC-level and block-level reorganisation, which in turn will facilitate the announcement of the list.

It is learnt that the list which was already prepared will go through tweaks. As procedures for organisation elections are already on, the reorganisation will have to be completed by March.

Due to severe discord, the High Command had to intervene to temporarily halt the reorganisation. Sudhakaran had readied a list of DCC office bearers and block presidents. The official explanation was that reorganisation was stopped due to complaints from MPs.

Over the list, there was a verbal dispute between Sudhakaran and Satheesan. There was also discord over the representation of A and I groups. Both the groups alleged that KC Venugopal loyalists were dominated the list.

Sudhakaran is of the stance that the list must be announced soon. He is in disagreement over holding back the list based on some complaints. Sudhakaran also informed the leadership that he did not receive any complaints from MPs.

A and I groups have been evaluating the difference of opinion in the Sudhakaran-Satheesan combo’s leadership that was going ahead with the support of Venugopal. The I group leveraged the discord and was able to strengthen the bond with Sudhakaran.

Meanwhile, Ramesh Chennithala is trying to bring I group loyalists K Muraleedharan and K Sudhakaran under one roof. Chennithala is strengthening his bond with his old friends including Muraleedharan.

According to Satheesan, he is not interested to be part of any group and if he is not allowed to function freely, he will not continue in any kind of leadership role in the party. Meanwhile, Chennithala said that KPCC president will have the final call in the party.
