Kochi: The investigation team will submit the re-investigation progress report on the actress assault case in court on Monday. The team will also seek extension of time to complete further investigation. The probe team is preparing to inform the trial court about the filing of petition in the High Court seeking extension to complete the investigation.

Extra time is being sought over new developments and the need to interrogate more people in the case. The investigating officers said that the time taken for inspection of digital evidence is causing the investigation to take longer than expected.

Meanwhile, Dileep visited the Sabarimala temple on Monday. He was accompanied by his friends Sarath and Manager Vengi.

The details concerning the leak of visuals related to the case were submitted in a sealed cover last month. Although the instruction was to complete further investigation on April 15, it was not done. The court had issued directions to keep the investigation details confidential. The court alleged that this is not being followed.

The court had also expressed distaste over the media reporting the order to quiz the court employees over the leak of court documents. Investigating officer Baiju Paulose was asked to submit an explanation over this. The court again sought a report from the Crime Branch ADGP stating that the explanation given by Baiju Paulose was not satisfactory.

The request submitted by the prosecution to cancel Dileep’s bail is also under the court’s review. This may be considered the next day. The prosecution has put forth the claim that Dileep violated the bail conditions and tried to influence the witnesses.
