Dileep not for immediate trial into actress attack case
Kochi: Actor Dileep has filed a petition in the Kerala High Court asking not to begin trial in the actress attack case pointing out that he has not received the documents entitled to him as an accused in the case.
Dileep has filed the petition as the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court which may begin the hearing on March 14.
The Angamaly Magistrate court had earlier clarified that it cannot hand over the visuals of the actress attack.
The court had rejected Dileep's petition saying there are chances of the visuals being misused if it is handed over and it will be a threat to the security of the actress.
However, Dileep later approached the High Court asking for the visuals of the attack.
Altogether 12 persons, including 8th accused Dileep, have been named as accused in the actress attack case.
The investigation into the case had revealed that the key accused Pulsar Suni had captured the visuals of the actress being attacked inside the moving vehicle.
Dileep had filed the petition in the Angamaly Magistrate Court asking for these visuals. However, the prosecution had pointed out that Dileep would try to tarnish the image of the actress using the visuals, if it is handed over to him.
