Dileep had grudge against actress, reveal statements of actors
Kochi: Statements given by actors before the police in connection with the actress attack case underline arguments that Dileep held grudge against the actress, who was brutally attacked in a moving vehicle in Kochi early this year.
Actor Manju Warrier, ex-wife of Dileep, had told police that it was the actress who informed her about the relationship between Dileep and Kavya Madhavan. When she inquired with Dileep about this, he said it was a mere imagination of the actress.
Actor Samyukta Varma had told police that Dileep nurtured grudge towards the actress for opening up about his relationship with Kavya before Manju Warrier. The actress was denied many opportunities in movies thereafter, according to Samyukta's statement.
Actor Kunchacko Boban too had given statement against Dileep. He told police that Dileep had compelled him to withdraw from acting in Manju Warrier’s come-back film “How Old Are You?’. Kunchacko Boban also said that when he refused to do so, Dileep tried to scuttle his opportunity in movie ‘Cousins’.
Singer and actor Rimi Tomy, in her statement, said Dileep and Kavya had a long chat in the hotel where they stayed during the US trip. She also told police that when she informed about the attack on the actress over phone to Kavya, her response was surprising.
Statements of around 50 people from the film industry have been recorded by the police in connection with the case.
