Kochi: The Crime Branch is mooting to record the statement of B Raman Pillai, the advocate of actor Dileep, in the case on the alleged attempt to influence the witnesses in the actress sexual assault case of 2017.
The Crime Branch has sent an intimation to Pillai regarding this. However, he wrote back to the CB that he is not willing to give statement in a 'fabricated case'.
The Peechi police in Thrissur had ealier filed a case for attempting to influence the witness of the sexual assault. It was later handed over to the Crime Branch team.
Meanwhile, the high court advocates registered protest against the move of the CB. Kerala High Court Advocates Association executive committee registered 'strong protest' against it. They have also called for a demonstation in the HC on Tuesday. The move will be resisted legally, they said.
