Kochi: The state government has formed a special team to investigate the latest developments in the sexual harassment of a Malayalam actor. Crime Branch chief S Sreejith will head the team. However, further probe in the matter will be led by DySP Baiju Paulose.
Senior officer KP Philip, Crime Branch SP KS Sudarsan and MJ Sojan, Nedumbassery CI PM Baiju are also part of the new team. They will be looking into the 'revelations' of director Balachandra Kumar. Police have already recorded his statement. Besides, the court has now ordered to record his confidential statement as well. If accepted by the trial court, Kumar will be a crucial witness in the case that saw many hostilities.
The new team will be entrusted with collecting evidence for the statements of Balachandra Kumar. The director had said that he was a witness for the friendship between actor Dileep and 'Pulsor' Suni, two accused in the case. He also said that Dileep managed to see the visuals shot by Suni when he was out on bail. The police also have to find out the 'VIP', who Kumar said arranged the visuals for Dileep.
