Kozhikode: Aided school managers in the state has decided to organise protest against the General Education Department’s order which set aside the first vacancy in aided school appointments for differently-abled individuals.

Private School (aided) Managers Association is of the opinion that restricting appointment of other individuals over the order is not justifiable. The Association urged the government to consider the opinion of the expert committee and come up with a favourable stand on their concerns.

Earlier, Kerala Wheelchair Rights Federation pointed out that the rationale of school managers is wrong. The objective of quota is not to restrict other appointments, it said. “However, if eligible candidates under differently-abled category are approaching they should be considered. The authorities concerned did not abide by the quota guidelines and hence we approached the court,” it said.
