DGP directs police to stop hartal-related violence
Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of Youth Congress called hartal condemning the murder of two of its activists in Kasaragod, DGP Loknath Behera has directed all district police chiefs to take necessary measures to stop hartal-related violence activities in the state. He also has instructed the force to assure normal life on Monday.
Stringent action will be taken against anyone who get involved in any kind of attack or blocking roads. Action will be taken to deduct the amount from them who cause damages to public properties. The amount will be deducted either from their bank account or personal property.
Protection will be provided to public offices and institutions which open and function on Monday. Case will be registered against those who take up violence.
Directions were given to all district police chiefs to implement the High Court order that says hartal shouldn’t be forcefully imposed upon the public. Range IGs and Zonal ADGPs were also directed to take necessary actions after evaluating the situation.
