DGP Behera’s visit to Britain comes under cloud, says Muraleedharan
Kochi: MoS External Affairs minister V Muraleedharan termed the Britain trip of DGP Loknath Behera suspicious. UK has relations with many controversial private companies. The Centre is aware of the issues stated by CAG. Muraleedharan told Mathrubhumi News that if the explanation given by the DGP is found unsatisfactory, then he may have to step aside.
“UK has links with many controversial companies. There are still doubts whether the DGP had travelled to Britain on a private visit or on official visit. If he had visited officially then it needs to be analysed if he had complied with the rules,” Muraleedharan said.
The CAG report has not been presented to the centre officially. But as all matters that happen across the country reach the home ministry it implies that this issue too would have reached the concerned department, he added.
